Out Of Africa

Writer's picture: ThylacineThylacine

My trip is coming to an end 😦  I spent the last week of the African portion of my trip in Tanzania’s Ngorogoro Crater and the Serengeti.  One of the highlights of the that week was visiting Oldavai (Oldapai) Gorge where the Leakey’s discovered the hominid fossils of Austalopithicus boisei and Homo habilis. I’ve posed a few pictures from these last few places.  I don’t think they’re the best of the trip, but I hope you enjoy them anyway.

I’ve spent the last 5 nights in Amsterdam. I go home tomorrow.  I’ll try to post some pictures from Amsterdam (my first time in Europe!) within a few days.

I hope you are all well!  I’m looking forward to seeing family and friends in Orange County.

Take Care,

Roy

If you crop it really tight, it turns out it’s a Black Rhino.

Who has a larger brain? Me or A. boisei. Wait… don’t answer that!

Wildebeest. We caught the early stages of the great migration. It is unfathomable how many of these we saw.
