Eastern Terminus

Writer's picture: ThylacineThylacine

I’ve been as far East as I’ll be going on this trip 😦  I could go further, there are many islands and distant lands east of here to explore.  As a matter of fact, I believe, if I’m not mistaken, that if I go far enough east, I will end up west of here.  Unfortunately, the depauperate nature of my bank account prevents further eastward travel.  At inception, my trip was a 30 day trip to 3 African countries, Namibia, Botswana, and Tanzania.  By the time I booked, it had grown into a 64 day mega trip to 6 different countries (and no longer included Namibia).

The eastern terminus of my trip was Andasibe National Park in western Madagascar.  This is probably Madagascar’s most popular national park because of its proximity to the international airport (4 hours by a decent road), and the diversity of its species.  It is in the wet forest part of Madagascar and is akin in ambiance, perhaps, to Monteverde in Costa Rica (for those of you who have been there).  I spent two days and nights exploring Andasibe and an adjacent park area.  I actually liked the lesser known park better than Andasibe because of the lack of other tourists.

I hope you are all well.  Keep tuned in for further updates. Enjoy the pictures 🙂
