Home

I arrived home about 10 days ago. From the coral reefs of Madagascar, I drifted north to Paris, France. It was the perfect spot to continue my transition home. 11 hour from Antananarivo, Madagascar to Paris. 11 Hours from Paris to LAX.

For 4 days and 5 nights, I roamed the halls of museums, prowled the streets of the city, and took refuge in ancient churches. Paris was the lens through which I re-acculturated to life in the western world. I loved it! It was only my second time in Europe. (I spent 5 nights in Amsterdam on my return from Africa in 2017.) I didn't carry my camera around the city, so the few pictures below were taken with either my ipad or iphone. I probably should have carried my camera :-)

This will be my last blog until my next adventure. Thank you to all the people that shared in my experiences. The conversations and camaraderie made my trip that much more special. And, thank you to everyone that followed along through this blog. I hope you enjoyed seeing some of the amazing biodiversity of Africa and Madagascar. Stay safe! Until next time ...

The people of Paris are really welcoming. This guy waved to everyone who passed by in the park.

This guy invited me to a poker game. I made a killing. He has a really unfortunate tell.

This guy shared the breath mints he carries wrapped up in a little piece of tin foil in his pocket. I woke up 2 days later in the burned out husk of Notre Dame Cathedral.

I think he gave some mints to this deer, also. Look at the madness in its eyes!

This is the closest I got to the Eiffel Tower.
